This FST is dedicated to one of the famous pairing in Naruto: SasuSaku.

If the Uchiha Massacre hadn’t happened, I think Sasuke would be like his younger self. He seems pretty cheerful, back then. That’s why I chose this song, it’s upbeat and lively. XD And… Sakura caught him off guard, even if he hates it, because, according to him, bonds like that makes him weak. Sasuke has a history of not letting people in, pushes them away, and that he doesn’t have time for love. But then, there came Sakura, who showed him that someone cares even for the ones like him, and little by little, she’s tearing the walls around him apart. Being her hero, and his heroine sounds like they’ll spend the rest of their lives saving each other. xP

2. Innocent – Fuel [lyrics]
All those colors long since faded
And all our smiles are confiscated
Never were we told
We’d be bought and sold
We were innocent

I guess this song can relate to all konoichis and shinobis. When they were younger, life was so easy, but now that they’re ninjas, they have to struggle in faith. Faith and growing up is what this song is about. The more jaded one becomes, the harder to keep faith working. I can also say, this states the darkness within Sasuke’s heart, and how Orochimaru’s been using Sasuke’s thirst to get stronger to his advantage, Sasuke’s body. *inserts perverted thought here*

3. Outside – Staind [lyrics]
And I’m looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
‘Cause inside you’re ugly
You’re ugly like me

I think it’s about wanting a person you could never have, who kept pushing you away, and making you feel ‘ugly’, and later realizing that that person is just as ugly as you are. Dun dun dun. xP Of course, I’m talking about Sakura and Saskue here.

Sakura has always been conscious about her appearance, and picked on about her huge forehead. Sasuke has this dark past, a past he wants to get it over with, and I think that’s what he thinks that makes him ugly. Sakura is the only person he has ever had a talk about admitting his vulnerability(“I was crying then..”), which is part of his ugly side as he thinks.

4. Hurt – Thousand Foot Krutch [lyrics]
It hurts when you need me
And I can’t break your fall
It hurts when you can’t see
And it hurts

And it hurts when you’re lonely
And I’m standing right beside you there
And it hurt when you told me
That you told me that you tried this on your own

This song fits both on Sakura and Sasuke’s perspectives. It was during the time when Sasuke’s seal first awakened. He has been sleeping when some nins attacked them. Sakura tried with all her might to protect him and Naruto(“Next time, you will watch my back”), but in her state at that time, she couldn’t do anything to help. That’s when Sasuke woke up with that cursed seal. Seeing her injured and hurt, he attacked those dummies with a passion to kill them xD(“Who did this to you, Sakura?”). Sakura means a lot to him, she’s been the only one who has filled his lonely and dark world with a brighter one, and of course love. So I see why he doesn’t want to see her hurt, and it hurt him too, realizing she was hurt trying to protect him, on her own, and thinking he might have lost her.

5. With Me – Sum 41 [lyrics]
Through it all
I made my mistakes
I’ll stumble and fall
but I mean these words

I believe Sasuke will return. He could have just told her “Goodbye” or perhaps “I’m sorry”. Instead, he thanked her. The entire scene, all we receive is “…” except that “Thank you”, and how Kishi clouded his eyes makes it even more emotional; I can almost taste Sasuke’s pain (damn, it broke my heart </3).

6. Slipped Away – Avril Lavigne [lyrics]
I’ve had my wake up
Won’t you wake up
I keep asking why?

A song that depicts death, not literally death, but how someone died inside. And she’s reaching out for him, calling out his name, believing she can bring him back from the dead.

7. Somewhere Down The Road – Nina [lyrics]
Those dreams of yours
Are shining on distant shores
And if they’re calling you away
I have no right to make you stay

Others say that letting go is what makes a person weak. But in Sakura’s case, it is the opposite. She has to stay and be strong in order to save her dear Sasuke-kun and see his gorgeous face again, which will be worth all the things she had gone through. xD

8. Heaven Knows – Carol Banawa [lyrics]
And all these time i act so brave
I’m shaking inside
Why does it hurt me so

Letting go is another way to say “I love you.”

9. If I Could Be Where You Are – Enya [lyrics]
Winter lies before me
now you’re so far away.
In the darkness of my dreaming
the light of you will stay.

The longing to bring innocence and purity back into Sasuke’s life. Though there is pain, there is also hope.

10. Savin’ Me – Nickelback [lyrics]
With these broken wings I’m fallin’
And all I see is you
These city walls ain’t got no love for me
I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh I scream for you

Perfect song for both of them. The song’s about someone going down the wrong path and can’t get out of it alone. Thus, he needs someone to ‘save him’, not his life, but rather himself and his hope. I also think this song is about hope. Sakura’s hope in seeing Sasuke again; Sasuke’s hope that there is someone who can help him change his life.

11. Silence – Sarah McLachlan [lyrics]
Heaven holds a sense of wonder
And I wanted to believe that I’d get caught up

OMG OMG Didn’t you know that this song is actually a hawt, steamy SasuSaku smex? *is excited* Heaven, passion, silence, release, white wave(ecstacy, orgasm). OMG OMG *drools* Yes, I thought that actually. *grins*

This song tells us about being different and alone(Sasuke’s POV), how fragile life is(Sakura’s POV), and the longing to find the way out. The person in “this white wave” is someone she and he has loved and lost.

12. Downfall – Matchbox Twenty [lyrics]
And I’m coming home, on my back
Kissing me, your lips painted black

I think this song speaks volume. It sounds like Sasuke wants to be with Sakura, but couldn’t be with her because he has yet some important issues to deal with. Maybe after he got these things resolved, having killed his old self(black lipstick symbolism) he can come back to Konoha(yes, he left, but that’s where he belongs), and to her and start anew.

13. Away From The Sun – Three Doors Down [lyrics]
I miss the life
I miss the colors of the world

Sasuke is surrounded by darkness, perhaps will be in more darkness now that he’s taking a different path. He can leave the village yes, but his heart can’t leave Konoha. Even though he barely shows it, from the bottom of his heart, he enjoyed those times he spent with his comrades(I don’t know if the “I want to see Kakashi-sensei’s face” episode is in the manga or not, but from what I’ve seen, it was one of the times he enjoyed being with them), and missed them. The “sun” here obviously refers to Sakura — who is his only source of light.
